Members at St. Andrews Country Club are used to having a robust year-round calendar of social activities to keep them busy and enjoying life with their family, friends and neighbors. This year a lot has had to change, but the Club is happy to continue hosting exciting social and fitness activities in the safety of the great outdoors. Here are a few that are getting a lot of attention.
So excited to be getting back to our onsite golf tournaments! There are safety protocols in place, but here are a few events:
- The Halloween Mixer was held on October 30 with a larger field than expected so tee times were held from 2-4pm. Cocktails along with Tricks and Treats were served throughout the Round and there were low net prizes in flight.
- There are Sunny Days Ahead with our specially scheduled Fall Golf Event on Tuesday, November 17 with tee times from 11:30am – 1:00pm. It will be a Scramble open to all SAWGA 9&18 holers that have a current U.S.G.A. Handicap. The colors of the day will be yellow and white and we invite participants to enjoy food and drinks on the golf course.
- A new Men’s Golf Event will be held Saturday, November 21 with tee times from 11:30am – 1:00pm. The tournament will be Computer Draw and Sit Out Scramble style with food, raffle and prizes available on the golf course.
Tennis playing Members at St. Andrews have been thrilled to hear that matches have been planned for season. The most recent one was for Halloween, October 31 and started at 8:30am. Costumes were optional for play, and prizes were given for the best costume!
The new Recreation & Aquatic Center at St. Andrews features three pools: the Junior Olympic pool, the Activity Pool and the Adult Plunge Pool. The Junior Olympic Pool is mostly used during the morning for Aquacise classes and for the lap swimming it offers. The Adult Plunge Pool was designed as a cool, relaxing place to sit and chat with friends and family, while the Activity Pool was created for younger members with a beach entry rising 42 inches. Pop jets and luminar water jets keep kids entertained all day long. An expanded deck surrounds all three pools with new, eclectic pool furniture and individual sun shades. One of the most favorite pool classes amongst the membership is definitely Aquacise; with a recent introduction of a men’s class that is continuously growing in size. Aquacise provides a great strength workout in the pool to help build stamina while offering lower compression and resistance for bones and muscles.
