It’s hard to isolate one thing that makes Boca Raton special. Boca Raton has it all; miles of pristine beaches, endless stretches of parks and bike paths, beautiful golf courses, tennis courts and water parks, class A-schools, culinary triumphs, welcoming neighborhoods and enviable real estate for every taste and budget. Add in national franchises, wine and food events and year-round climate made for outdoor diversions, and you have something to do every weekend.
Shopping & Dining
Boca Raton is also a shopper’s paradise. It’s home to some of the best stores in the world. Whether your style is chic and trendy, relaxed BoHo or sophisticated preppy, Boca has couture fashion for every price range and taste. Boca’s vast culinary landscape is also first class, with numerous options ranging from the best dining in South Florida to the hottest new chefs waiting to be discovered. Great Italian and lauded steakhouses share corners with family-friendly spots and time-honored bars, among others.
Beautiful Beaches
The 70-mile stretch of coastline from Palm Beach through Broward County attracts visitors from around the world. Water temperatures are almost always in the 70s and 80s, so swimming in December and January is a favorite pastime for vacationers. Each mile of beach has its own characteristics, from dune-lined stretches of pure serenity to those with bustling beachside shops and restaurants. There are reefs up and down our coastline and one in particular is distinguished by Red Reef Park, an underwater reef teeming with sea life in waters only 8 feet deep. Offshore, along the coast there are roughly 70 sites for divers and 25 of these are shipwrecks. For the sport fishermen, there are several charters for both drift boats and deep-sea fishing but if waterskiing is more your speed, you can slip on skis or jump on a wakeboard at Ski Rixen. Have grandkids? Then enjoy a day of fun at Coconut Cove Waterpark, and slide down one of its two four-story water slides, exercise in the lap pool or explore its 897-foot-wide river ride.
